Music & Films
Shaped
The visuals for this film had a strong, striking quality, so the music needed to match that energy. I focused on creating something slightly unsettling, using synth textures and sound design to support the more disturbing moments within the visuals.
Through The Smoke
A slow ballad track that evokes the feeling of 1940’s LA lawyers and crime scenes. The muted trumpet helps to give it the ‘smoky’ vibe.
“Working with Tom was a really smooth process. He really took the time to understand the tone of our film and was very open to feedback.“
— Peter T, Short Film Director
Grigori
This film suited a more classical style with minimal instrumentation. I decided to use piano and strings to portray the emotions of the character throughout the film.
Ratatouille (Rescore)
A short rescore of a scene from Ratatouille, exploring how music can shape timing, emotion, and character within animation.
Scoring for animation often allows for a close connection between movement and music, helping to bring each moment to life.
“What an amazing first draft! was not expecting this amazing quality you have certainly captured the creepy, grim feeling.”
— Toby H, Director of “Shaped”
Another World
The idea behind this piece was to create a sense of discovery and atmosphere by blending orchestral textures with synth elements. Music like this can help shape the feeling of stepping into somewhere unfamiliar.
A Closer Look
A track written to create a sense of tension and suspense within a scene. The kind of moment where a character is trying not to be seen, moving carefully and listening for anything out of place. Music like this works best when it stays subtle and lets the suspense build naturally.
“You’ve done such an amazing job! I really want to congratulate you on your hard work, it has been amazing.”
— Nigel S, Film Director
